Λίγο πριν ανακοινωθεί η λίστα των υποψηφιοτήτων για τα βραβεία Όσκαρ, δόθηκε στη δημοσιότητα – αρχικά μέσω του βίντεο που ακολουθεί – η λίστα με τις χειρότερες ταινίες της χρονιάς που πέρασε, οι οποίες διεκδικούν ένα από τα βραβεία Razzie.
Ο νικητής της κάθε κατηγορίας ανακοινώνεται την παραμονή της τελετής των βραβείων Όσκαρ, στις 23 Φεβρουαρίου.
