Την Κυριακή 18/9 πραγματοποιήθηκε η 68η απονομή των βραβείων Emmy 2016 στο Microsoft Theater του Λος Άντζελες και για ακόμη μια χρονιά το κόκκινο χαλί γέμισε με λαμπερές παρουσίες.
Οι νικητές στις δύο μεγάλες κατηγορίες των βραβείων ήταν όπως αναμένονταν το «Game of Thrones» και το «Veep» που απέσπασαν τα βραβεία για καλύτερη δραματική σειρά και κωμωδία αντίστοιχα. Η σειρά του HBO ήταν υποψήφια για 24 βραβεία και τελικά απέσπασε 12 Emmy μεταξύ των οποίων και αυτό για καλύτερη σκηνοθεσία.
