LANCÔME + ANDREW YANG
Ever since his childhood spent between Salt Lake City and Taipei, designer and illustrator Andrew Yang has fostered a discerning sense of style. Daring and highly gifted in equal measure, he began his career as a costume designer at the Salt Lake City Opera House – while he was still in high school! This initial promising foray into the realm of fashion would led him to join New York’s renowned Fashion Institute of Technology, before honing his skills at Proenza Schouler.
A decidedly brilliant artist, both inventive and multi-talented, in 2008, Andrew Yang imagined his very first collection of Kouklitas (from the Greek Koukla – dolls), crafted from mousseline trimmings. While working from Brooklyn, this gifted designer set about reinventing fashion collections to dress his haute couture “fashion rag dolls”. Totally hand-crafted, each doll is a high-precision masterpiece. It was only a matter of time before the young designer would be spotted by Anna Wintour, leading him to work with some of the world’s leading fashion designers.
A visionary and committed artist, Andrew Yang also created a collection of dolls for Chinese brand MO&Co to support access to artistic education among central Chinese children.
Avant-garde style, creativity and commitment… It was only natural for this artist to cross paths with Lancôme. Exclusively designed for the brand, Andrew Yang presents Alyssa, Isabelle and Camille: a trio of dolls endowed with unique elegance.
